Assalamu alaykum brothers & sisters,
Alhamdulilah, the Eid Extravaganza on Sunday 26th September at Woughton Leisure Centre was a great success. We'd like to thank all of the organisers and volunteers who gave up their time and the performers who came up from London, as well as the several hundred people who attended from near and far. May Allah reward and continue to bless the community in Milton Keynes and allow us to keep striving for His pleasure. Ameen. The celebrations had the usual family fun in the form of the Bouncy Castle and the MK Dons target shooting game, henna design and face painting and a 'Design-the-Masjid' drawing competition. There were stalls selling Islamic books, clothing, accessories and T-shirts and hoodies in support of our brothers and sisters in Palestine. HSBC Amanah, Amanah School and the proposed masjid project all had presentation stands and were available to answer any questions. Kebab Hut, Wolverton, provided a tasty selection of dishes on the day, as well as other snacks being available within the hall. Entertainment included performances from Muslim Belal, Naseeha, Mecca 2 Medina, Khaleel Muhammad and RFM's very own Farmer Giles and the Power Girls! Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the Ramadan FM Qiraat Competition. Don't forget, this is a community website - please send us some of your Eid pics (d.reeb@mkmuslims.org) so that we can share them with the rest of the community, insha'Allah! Also, please get in touch with any feedback - positive or otherwise - which you have about any of these events or projects. Jazakallah khair for your continued support.
Our warmest salaams, The MKMA Team |
